Ympact hosted the event “Leveraging Digital Product Passports (DPP) to Reduce Reporting Burdens” in Brussels, recognised this year as an official Partner Event of EU Green Week 2025, the European Union’s leading conference on environmental policy.

At the centre of the event was the presentation of the ESPR Working Table, a collaborative initiative designed to facilitate dialogue across existing efforts related to Digital Product Passports.

The ESPR Working Table is not intended to establish yet another working group or standard, but rather to build on and harmonise ongoing work from prominent initiatives and organisations such as CIRPASS-2, UN/CEFACT, UNECE, ISO, and others shaping the emerging DPP ecosystem.

As the administrator and Italian moderator of the EU-funded initiative circulardata.org, Ympact plays a key role in helping stakeholders understand what the EU Digital Product Passport will concretely look like, supporting clarity, alignment and practical readiness across sectors.

Contributing to the European debate on environmental and digital transition.

Presenting the ESPR Working Table as an EU Green Week Partner Event represents an important acknowledgement of Ympact’s contribution to bridging policy, technical standards and the operational needs of industry.
The discussion focused on how Digital Product Passports can reduce reporting burdens, improve data quality and enhance transparency along global value chains, in line with the objectives of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

The dialogue among EU institutions, industry associations and technical initiatives highlighted several priorities:

●  Strengthening interoperability and regulatory clarity

●  Avoiding duplication across reporting and traceability systems

●  Promoting shared digital tools that simplify compliance for companies

● Ensuring coherence between international standards and the evolving EU legislative framework

Ympact’s commitment

Through the ESPR Working Table and the operational management of circulardata.org, Ympact reaffirms its commitment to facilitating structured dialogue across institutions, sectors and supply chains, supporting the development of a more accessible, harmonised and impact-oriented European digital ecosystem.
